The latest innovations in payroll and benefits.
Mobile app launched
Cascade HR has launched a mobile app to help make its day-to-day self-service functionality easier to use.
The app has been developed to fit with a flexible workforce as more staff either work from home or become more mobile. The technology allows users to book holiday, check payslips and monitor outstanding HR tasks.
Dan Edwards, Cascade’s Development Director, commented: “We’ve many more ideas in the pipeline that will enable customers to utilise their HR technology in ways they perhaps never thought possible.”
Dining out on rewards
Restaurant Choice, from Grass Roots, is an employee benefit offering a multi-brand dining voucher.
The voucher can be utilised as a reward and recognition tool for employees and can be purchased in £10 and £25 denominations. It can be used at a variety of chain restaurants such as Bella Italia and Strada, as well as a number of country pubs, hotels and casinos.
Ian Horsham, Managing Director of Grass Roots, said: “As well as being used as an excellent way of rewarding and recognising staff, this product can equally be used as an effective reward for customers and channel partners alike.”
An eye on costs
A web-based Project Costing Module has been unveiled by Bond TeamSpirit to help employers capture information on the amount of time spent by employees on individual projects.
The module is integrated with the employee self-service applications. When employees fill in their daily timesheets they are asked to allocate their time to specific projects or activities.
This data can then by used to calculate a real-time resource cost for each project and help companies to monitor and control budgets.
Cloud-based talent
A cloud-based applicant tracking system has been revealed by e-recruitment software provider Candidate Manager.
TalentPack benefits recruiters by enabling them to automate HR processes. Integrated job posting, applicant–recruiter email interaction and job-specific application forms help when short listing.
Darach Deehan, CEO of Candidate Manager, commented: “TalentPack is designed to work from the recruiters’ perspective in order to give organisations a faster and seamless recruiter centric solution.”
T&A for temporary staff
Vanquish Web is a time and attendance (T&A) product from Auto Time Solutions to help recruiters to adapt to the new working regulations for temporary workers.
The Agency Workers Regulations will give temporary workers the same rights as permanent staff after they have worked for 12 consecutive weeks at a company. As a result employers will need to closely monitor them.
The system clocks employees in and out via a biometric hand-scanner and sends data to a centrally managed web-portal. This provides accurate T&A results and can identify when employees are reaching the 12-week mark.
A holistic approach
Hay Group Spectrum is a measurement tool designed to help employers to analyse their HR function.
The system can help organisations to optimise reward for staff, but it can also help to design jobs and fit people to jobs so that they are aligned within the overall structure of the firm.
Phil Johnson, Global Head of Hay Group Spectrum, said: “Organisations’ understanding of work and their approach to HR are often fragmented. The product removes the traditional HR silos and takes a holistic, results-focused approach.”
