Mediation takes off February 2012

Posted date: 31 January 2012
Mediation training will be offered to a group of 24 small and medium-sized enterprises in Cambridge and Manchester.

The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills will fund the initiative as part of a pilot to provide a network of trained mediators to help resolve workplace disputes.

The scheme is part of the Government’s employment law reforms which are designed to reduce tribunal claims.

Edward Davey, Employment Relations Minister, said: “Mediation offers an informal method of dispute resolution and can be used at the point when problems first arise in
the workplace.”
